The Vehicle
SOME HISTORY: After the BJ-type Land Cruiser was introduced and originally built for military use in the early 50’s; in 1956 Toyota launched the 20-series to serve industrial expansion and to stimulate demand for Toyota vehicles around the world. There were 10 variations available: from FJ20 through FJ29. The FJ25 model was positioned as the standard of the Series (more production), and the FJ28 probably represents the less produced. Presented here is truly a collectors dream! 1960 FJ28L - An extremely rare last-year production model of the longest-wheelbase version of the 20 Series. These vehicles (FJ28s from 1960) were produced by Gifu Auto Body Industries (see emblem in rear-door).
This highly collectible vehicle represents the Holy Grail of Land Cruisers - No more than a handful of this model is known to exist. There is only one more in the US being exhibited at The Land Cruiser Heritage Museum in Salt Lake City, UT.
After many years, this extremely rare, unique, original and unmolested Land Cruiser was taken out of captivity from a farm in Venezuela.
